Skate safety

My mom and dad are always on me about skate safety.   Their rule is if it has wheels, I better have a on my helmet. I figured I should share with you some important safety things to think about when you are skating.
Most accidents you are going to thrash your hands, face, knees.  I have even had a good whack on the behind getting good air.  Falling is pretty much going to happen,be ready for it.  Wear good gear-helmets and pads. Use a good board.  A cheap Walmart board will break and if you break your board all kinds of stuff can go wrong. Check this out... don't let it happen to you.

Wear long pants and good shoes. Stay in shape.  Skateboarding is good exercise but you should stretch and stuff too.

WEAR A HELMET!  ( That is what my mom says and I bet your mom said it too and your just not listening.)

Sample sale

Today we had a sample sale at my mom's office. Turnout was not so good. ;(
We are going to go back and think how to do this better and come up with a new fund- raiser idea.

In the meantime look at the cool board my friend Mike made for me.
He messed up his calf muscle at the last day of skateboard camp but Still made me this sweet ride.

Thank you!

Hi~
We have 20.00 more in our kitty thanks to a generous donation from the Russell's!  Plus, I lost a molar and the tooth fairy gave me 5.00, so actually we have 25.00 more dollars in the bank!  That brings our total up to  74 dollars!

We are having a sample sale this weekend to raise money, so I hope to have a post next week with another big thank you!

In the meantime, I leave you with this video of Bob Burnquist jumping the Grand Canyon.
How AWESOME is that?

Day 2- How did I come up with the idea

Well, first I was at Starbucks and I said "  I wanted to start a skateboard charity."   I wanted a skateboard charity because I thought it wouild be good for people and good for me.   Skateboarding is good for people becuase they use their hands for christair and they use their feet for doing ollies and so on.  It is creative too!  They might be able to invent new ways to skateboard or they might think about being a pro someday.   It is good for me because it's kind of like homework and free time at the same time.

So after I decided to start my charity and came up with the name,  I did some research on charities and the first thing to do was come up with a mission statement.

My mission statement is to get all kids to skateboard and give them something to look forward to.

I hope to collect donations of money to buy skateboards and helmets for 10 kids for this first Christmas of christshare.  There is a donate button at the top of the page here, every little bit will help.  If you can dontate a board or any safty equipment; we would love that too, just leave me a comment and my mom will get in touch with you.

I sign off today by sharing  information about one of my favorite skaters, called the "godfather of skateboarding: Rodney Mullen.  This is from his website...go here if you want to learn more.

Rodney Mullen is widely considered the most influential skateboarder in the history of the skateboarding. The majority of ollie and flip tricks he invented throughout the 1980's, including the flatground ollie, the Kickflip, the Heelflip, and the 360 flip are regularly done in modern vertical and street skateboarding.

Day One -Why the name?

Why did I pick this name?

Well, a christair is a great skate board move.  It is when a skater grabs the board out from under them, does a christ on the cross pose in mid air, arms spread wide and returns the board to there feet to land.  It was invented by boarder Christian Hosoi and it is awesome.   So I thought, my charity was to get kids new skateboards and the chirstair is an awesome move. christair, share, christshare was born.

This first photo is my logo.  I drew it myself.  It is on my brochures and on my Facebook page.
Here I am doing a sweet jump.  Skateboarding is so fun.  You have to try it!

More to come later!
